Sophie is an intern design researcher at STBY London. She is a conceptually driven visual designer who is passionate about research within the wider design process. She loves utilising the design process to transfer complex ideas into effective and clear communication. She sees design as having a powerful ability to explore human behaviour particularly the ordinary and extraordinary in the everyday.
She is currently doing a placement year as part of her Graphic Design BA at Kingston School of Art. In her degree she sees herself as a visual communicator working in a range of media, with a specific focus on film, photography and publication. She often focuses on themes such as community, identity and the urban environment, always with a strong research foundation. Highlights include a photography publication documenting bus travel and a short film exploring her grandpa’s daily routine as someone with dementia.
When she is not working she enjoys playing tennis, going for coffee with friends and going out to live music bars. If she were not a Designer she would be a tennis player.
