Gill has had multiple roles in innovating with people and is particularly interested in what we can do with design. Her Community Development roots are coupled with a Strategic Design and innovation practice. Her commercial experience across multiple large and small technology companies over the past 25 years reflects her passion for how we shape it for us.
She is powered by how design creates value and impact for people, organisations and businesses, and especially how we capture it. She knows that when used strategically, engaging people using care and insight, design creates profound effects. She is happiest designing and running innovation and incubator programmes to establish and grow creative and social impact businesses.
As an educator, she has taught at Brunel University, Carnegie Mellon School of Design, Dundee University, Hyper Island and Goldsmiths. She consolidated her years of design and innovation consultancy work in a PHD by practise in Strategic Design from RMIT.
When not running businesses and designing programmes, she is out walking somewhere, or dipping in cold water or watching horror films. If she were not a designer, she would be a spy or an actor.
