Last week we visited the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven and were quite impressed with what we saw. There were many different exhibitions displaying high quality design. Far too much to see within one day. Next year we’ll make sure to plan for a longer visit!
¬†One of the products that struck me was a lamp with a levitating hood. The hood was really suspended in mid air without any support. Although this phenomenon is very new to see, it somehow did not seem to mesmerise the audience. People did come closer to look at it, and then just said ‘that’s very nice’. I am always amused to see how easy some new technologies can get welcomed into our lives.
The design of this lamp is not very special, but the new levitation technology can probably also be used for many other interesting things.
