We’re excited to share that the DIY Toolkit, a longstanding favourite for social innovation, is now also available as templates on Miro. Each tool in the DIY Toolkit has been adapted into an easy-to-use digital template, ready to support collaborative, online workshops and creative processes.
This new digital format makes the toolkit more accessible and flexible, whether you’re facilitating a remote session, working asynchronously across teams, or simply prefer to sketch ideas on a digital whiteboard.
The original DIY Toolkit was initiated by Nesta and made possible by funding from The Rockefeller Foundation. Stby and Quicksand curated, edited and designed the toolkit, in close collaboration with Nesta. The toolkit is published under a creative commons license. It contains a set of 30 best in class and proven tools for triggering and supporting social innovation. Every tool has a concise description, a downloadable worksheet and some practical instructions to get you started.
The move to add the tool templates on Miro was inspired by the thought-provoking seminar’ Understanding the Digital Culture in Mexico’, organised by our partner delaO design studio. Their work highlighted the importance of designing for diverse digital practices and contexts—a prompt that encouraged us to reimagine how the DIY Toolkit could better support today’s hybrid ways of working.
You can explore the DIY Toolkit on Miro here or watch the video below to learn how you can find and use the Miro templates.
We’re looking forward to hearing how these templates support your work and spark new ways of thinking!
