{"id":5406,"date":"2015-03-18T09:18:31","date_gmt":"2015-03-18T08:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stby.eu\/?p=5406"},"modified":"2018-04-06T17:30:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-06T15:30:53","slug":"change-public-sector-discussing-european-practices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stby.eu\/wp_15\/2015\/03\/18\/change-public-sector-discussing-european-practices\/","title":{"rendered":"Change in the public sector: Discussing European practices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STBY was invited by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.la27eregion.fr\/\">La 27e Region<\/a>, the French national Laboratory for public transformations, to present at the opening of \u201cSuperpublic\u201d &#8211; an exciting space in the center of Paris dedicated to transform the public sector in France. The event was part of the \u201cWeek of public innovation\u201d, an annual conference organised by \u201c le Secretariat General pour la Modernisation de l\u2019Action Publique\u201d (General Secretary for the Modernisation of Public Affairs), which falls directly under France\u2019s Prime minister.<\/p>\n<p>To inspire the audience composed of civil servants and citizens, four design agencies -amongst which STBY- were asked to present recent public sector projects. The agencies came from different European countries and showed a variety of collaborative design approaches. From making films with citizens to imagine the d<a href=\"http:\/\/lafabriquedesfuturs.com\/\">esired future 10 years of their territory<\/a>, to creating an animation toolbox to co-create co-responsible <a href=\"http:\/\/www.strategicdesignscenarios.net\/a21_gironde\/\">vision for 2033 for the \u2018Gironde\u2019 county<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of STBY Marie de Vos presented a series of case studies wherein \u2018design documentaries\u2019 exploring citizens needs and everyday struggles were created as a way to empathise and inspire civil servants to co-create improvements and new services.<\/p>\n<p>The different approaches presented clearly had a common goal: design ways to have administrations and citizens work together in a better way.
