{"id":5339,"date":"2015-03-11T13:06:21","date_gmt":"2015-03-11T12:06:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stby.eu\/?p=5339"},"modified":"2015-08-10T18:58:17","modified_gmt":"2015-08-10T16:58:17","slug":"launching-inclusive-technology-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stby.eu\/wp_15\/2015\/03\/11\/launching-inclusive-technology-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Launching the Inclusive Technology Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STBY worked with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nesta.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nesta<\/a>, the UK&#8217;s innovation charity, to create an &#8216;explanimation&#8217; for the launch of their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nesta.org.uk\/blog\/launching-inclusive-technology-prize\" target=\"_blank\">Inclusive Technology Prize<\/a>.<\/p>\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/108333894\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" title=\"Inclusive Technology Prize\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inclusivetechprize.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Inclusive Technology Prize<\/a> is a call for innovative projects that aim to create equal access to life&#8217;s opportunities for disabled people, their families, friends and carers in the UK. With 1 in 6 people in the UK living with a disability or limiting long-term illness, it&#8217;s an incredibly pressing call for innovative approaches to inclusive design. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inclusivetechprize.org\/news-blogs\/congratulations-25-semi-finalists' projects\" target=\"_blank\">25 semi-finalists<\/a> span various aspects of one&#8217;s life, from designing new lighting systems, to 3D-printed robotic prosthetic hands, to evolvable walking aids. These projects will be assessed by a team of judges in June 2015, with up to 10 finalists awarded \u00a310,000 to take their ideas to the prototype
