The book \u2018Seeing The City, Interdisciplinary Perspectives on the Study of the Urban\u2019, provides an essential collection of methodologies for studying the city from multiple, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary perspectives. The complexity of the urban environment cannot be understood from a single vantage point, and therefore the book offers multiple methodologies in order to gather and analyse data about the city, and provide ways to connect and integrate these approaches. 
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STBY contributed to the book by writing the chapter \u2018Streetlabs as a co-creative approach to Research Through Design\u2019. As specialists in Research Through Design, we are frequently asked by local governments to carry out Streetlab projects regarding urban space design and to actively involve the users. In this chapter, we show how to use Research Through Design as a method by means of its application in a Streetlab on co-creative urban space design in Amsterdam. We are using the case of the redesign process of the Haarlemmerstraat and Haarlemmerdijk in Amsterdam to illustrate what this method demands and what it can achieve.
