Maaike is a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven (2012). She also holds a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Rotterdam. Prior to taking up her job as Design Research Assistant at STBY, she completed an internship in the Amsterdam office (2011). Maaike is involved in design research projects, next to running the operational side of the Amsterdam office together with Marie de Vos.
Maaike describes herself as “an empathic Designer, who is inpired by people”. She’s a firm believer in the notion that groups who don’t usually have contact with each other can learn from each other once connected, and also cites research as the reference point for all good design.
