Together with some other Service Design pioneers in The Netherlands*, we have this summer initiated the Service Design network Netherlands. Apart from being an excuse to regularly meet up and spent a delightful evening talking about our ideas and our work, we aim to stimulate knowledge exchanges between Service design professionals in The Netherlands and to further broaden the network with creatives who feel connected to the approach of Service Design.
The Service Design Lab we are organising during the Picnic cross-media conference in Amsterdam (24-26 September) will be the official launch of the network. This lab also offers people the opportunity to gain some on-hands experience with Service Design by engaging in a case-study-based workshop. (See the Picnic website for more information.)
In November the first international Service Design conference will take place in Amsterdam (24-26 November). We are also involved in the preparations for this. The main organisation is done by the International Service design Network, which is based in Koeln, Germany. (See the network website for more information.)
