Presentation at N2010 in Brazil

STBY Co-founder and Strategy Director Bas Raijmakers will be in Brazil this July speaking at the N2010 design festival. N2010, or the National Meeting of Students of Design, is this year celebrating its 20th anniversary by returning to Curitiba, the site of the first meeting in 1991. The event brings together students and academics in order to provide a forum for the articulation, exchange, and integration of Brazilian design thinking. Bas will be at the event as a speaker on July 15th.

Service Design Talks 20/1

On 20 January we will be getting together again to discuss another recently published and interesting book related to Service Design. This time it’s Tim Brown’s new book ‘Change by Design’. A must read for everyone in the field, so why not come and talk about it with a group of peers in the field?
19:00 to 21:30 at our studio in Amsterdam.

If you plan to come, please register for the event through either our Facebook or Linkedin group page. Spaces are limited, so also notify us if you cannot come for some reason. You can easily change your status on the group page. This way everyone is informed on who to expect.

Our colleagues and friends from Apogee in Hong Kong, Jo Wong and Daniel Szuk, visited us in London this week. It was really lovely to have them around at the studio for a day and to engage in all sorts of interesting discussions over lunch. Wish this could happen more often…

As partners in the Reach network we do have regular contact by email and skype about proposals and projects, but nothing beats a good old face to face meeting to go into depth on fresh ideas and lateral thoughts. Thanks for coming by guys!

Service Design Talks 4/11

On Wednesday 4 November another of those lively debating evenings about Service Design will take place at 7 pm in the office of STBY in Amsterdam.

Please be invited. Do let us know you are coming, through either the events page of the Facebook group or the events page in Linkedin.

The book we will be discussing this time is the brand new ‘Designing Services with Innovative Methods’, edited by Satu Miettinen and Mikko Koivisto. The two Dutch outhors represented in the book, Arne van Oosterom and Remko van de Lugt have agreed to be to come by too, so there is ample opportunity to talk shop!
